General Information
Telephone Standby:
All prospective jurors, except grand jurors, are on a telephone standby system. Jurors are required to call the evening before their scheduled service. The telephone number is (716) 753-4260. Prospective grand jurors do not have to call and should report on the day and at the time listed on their summons.
Weather Related Announcements:
IN THE EVENT OF SNOW OR ANY ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS the following local radio stations will broadcast announcements relative to the operations of the courts on these days:

Parking:
There is a large parking lot located on the north side of the Gerace Office Building. Enter this parking lot off of North Erie St. You may also park along the street in appropriate spaces. There are handicap parking spaces designated in this parking lot.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The Gerace Office Building and the Chautauqua County Courthouse are linked. The ONLY public entrance for BOTH buildings is located on the north side of the Gerace Office Building (next to the North Erie St. parking lot).
All other entrances to the two buildings are closed to the public including the entrance at the front steps of the Courthouse.
Absence/Emergency:
If an illness or emergency prevents you from reporting, please call our office at (716) 753-4266 at 9:00 a.m. on the day that you are to report.
Court Hours:
Court normally operates from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except on the first day of service which commences at 9:00 a.m. There is a mid-morning break, a lunch break and a mid-afternoon break. Court sessions usually do not go
beyond 4:30 p.m. except when juries are deliberating.
Court Security:
All jurors are required to pass through a metal detector and have their belongings and purses inspected each time that they enter the court buildings. Weapons and dangerous instruments are not permitted. Court officers will determine what is allowed in the courthouse and you may have to check items with security upon entering the court buildings.
Meals:
Meals are furnished only to deliberating jurors. All other meals are your responsibility. There are several restaurants located within walking distance of the courthouse. There are vending machines located on the first floor of the Gerace Office Building.
Verification of Attendance:
Attendance is taken at the beginning of each day in the trial part to which you are assigned. You may request a proof of service certificate upon completion of service.
Wi-Fi:
We are pleased to announce that our jury assembly room is WIFI capable (wireless remote). You may bring your wireless devices such as a laptop computer for use when you are in the jury assembly room.
