General Information
Telephone Standby:
The telephone standby is established for your convenience to prevent trips to Norwich. You will need to report to the courthouse only when instructed to do so by means of a recorded message. The recorded message will refer to the court and reporting date and time on your summons. The telephone standby number is: (607) 337-1456.
Parking:
Parking is available in the public parking area of the County Office Building, the city parking lot on Hayes Street and the public lot behind the Howard Johnson's on North Broad Street.
Absence/Emergency:
If an illness or emergency prevents you from reporting, please call our office at 607-337-1456 at 9:00 a.m. on the day you are to report.
Court Hours:
Court normally operates from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a lunch hour and breaks during the day.
Court Security:
The main entrance on the park is open at 8:45 a.m. To assure public safety, a police officer is on duty on the main floor of the courthouse. A magnetometer is located in the courthouse and jurors are not exempt from the screening process.
Meals:
Restaurants are located within one block of the courthouse. You are free to bring your own lunch, however, no food or drinks are permitted in the courtroom.
Phone Access:
A pay phone is located in the basement of the courthouse.
Verification of Attendance:
A court officer will provide an attendance verification form to all jurors who are required to submit proof of service to their employer.
