Please Note: - Jurors scheduled for the Monday, November 16, 2009 term of Supreme Court AND Jurors scheduled for the Monday, November 16, 2009 term of County Court your trial has settled and you do not need to report for jury duty. You will be credited with four years of good service. Should you wish to serve sooner, please contact this office to obtain a Reduction of Ineligibility Period form which would reduce your time from four years to two years. Thank you for your willingness to serve.

General Information

Telephone Standby:
All jurors are on standby and report only when instructed to do so by means of the recorded telephone message. The telephone call-in number is (315) 866-0059. This does not apply to grand jury service.

Parking:
Parking is available in the lot across from the Courthouse, and additional parking is available behind the M & T Bank on Main Street in Herkimer.

Absence/Emergency:
If an illness or emergency prevents you from reporting, please call our office at 867-1184 between 8:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. on the day you are to report.

Court Hours:
The court operates from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. on Monday through Friday, with lunch hour and breaks. (Summer hours are 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.)

Court Security:
The Washington St. entrance is the primary entrance used by jurors. All other doors are locked for security. Weapons or dangerous instruments of any kind are prohibited.

Please be aware: New York State Court system does not ask prospective jurors for financial information such as the names and ages of your family members. Do not provide this kind of information to anyone claiming to represent the court system. If you receive this type of request, please contact your Commissioner of Jurors at (315)867-1184. Meals:
Meals are your own responsibility. Several eateries are available within walking distance.

Verification of attendance:
Jurors check in at reporting time. An attendance verification form is available to all jurors and is required by most employers for payroll purposes.
