Daily Call-In Message

THIS MESSAGE IS INTENDED FOR THOSE GRAND JURORS WHO ARE SCHEDULED TO APPEAR ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 2009. Please note that you DO NOT NEED TO APPEAR ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 17. The District Attorney does not have any cases to present to you at this time. Your next scheduled appearance is Tuesday, November 24, 2009. Please be certain to check this website again on Monday, November 23, to determine if you need to appear on Tuesday, November 24. Thank you.

 

General Information

Telephone Standby:
All trial jurors are on standby and report to the Lewis County Courthouse only when instructed to do so by means of a recorded message. The recorded message will advise you of the time and place you are to appear. The telephone standby number is (315) 376-5348.

Parking:
Limited parking is available in the area surrounding the courthouse.

Absence/Emergency:
If you are unable to report at any time during your term due to illness or an emergency, please telephone the Commissioner of Jurors office at 376-5317 as soon as possible after 8:30 a.m.

Court Hours:
The Commissioner of Jurors office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays, to answer your questions. Court normally operates form 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Court Security:
Before entering the courtroom you will be required to pass through a magnetometer. Jurors are not exempt from this screening process and should not bring weapons, pocket knives or small scissors with them to court. Your cooperation and patience are greatly appreciated.

Meals:
The courthouse does not have a cafeteria but there are some restaurants in the vicinity where meals can be purchased.

Verification of Attendance:
Jurors are required to sign in each day that they are present at the courtroom. An attendance certificate is printed on your summons and may be presented to the commissioner of jurors office for certification as needed.

What to Bring to Court:
Please bring your completed Summons and a pen or pencil with you to court.
