General Information
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Please be aware that the New York State Court System does not ask jurors for financial information (such as credit cards or bank accounts) or personal information (such as names and ages of your family members). Do not provide this kind of information to anyone claiming to represent the court system. If you receive this type of request, please contact our office immediately.
Telephone Standby:
To determine your daily obligation, you must call (845) 208-7895 anytime the weekend before your term date. You must continue to call this number each evening after 6:00 p.m. through and including Thursday of the week you report. A recorded message will identify by ID# jurors who must be available. If your ID# is not on the message, then you have no obligation for the next day. You must call each evening for your reporting instructions. You may be required to serve on a trial extending beyond one week.
Parking:
Parking is available at the courthouse. To avoid complications, do not park in reserved parking spaces.
Absence / Emergency:
If an illness or emergency prevents you from reporting, please call our office at (845) 208-7895 at 9:00 a.m. on the day you are to report.
Court Hours:
Courts are in session 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Court Security:
Persons entering the courthouse must pass through a metal detector. No weapons, defensive sprays, knives, edged metal items or recording devices are allowed.
Meals: There are numerous eateries within walking or short driving distance of the courthouse. You are free to bring your own lunch. No food or drink is allowed in the courtrooms.
Verification of Attendance:
Upon request, jurors may obtain a attendance verification form. Only physical days of court attendance will be recorded.
