General Information
Entry to the courthouse is at the rear of the building from the parking lot.
Telephone Standby:
The telephone call-in number is (607) 535-8161. Jurors summonses request that prospective jurors call the night or the weekend before the reporting date for final instructions which will include the date, time and place to report, parking availability, and a reminder to complete the Juror Information form attached to the summons.
Parking:
During the school year parking is normally in the Timespell/State Park lot on Franklin Street, and during the summer at the Watkins Glen Middle School on 9th Street.
Absence/Emergency:
If an emergency prevents you from reporting, please call our office at 535-7760 or 535-8161 at 8:45 a.m.
Court Hours:
Court normally operates from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a lunch hour and breaks throughout the day.
Court Security:
Jurors will be required to go through a metal detector upon entering the building. It is urged that metallic objects carried or on one's person be limited. Jurors then report directly to the courtroom where attendance is taken and Juror Information forms are collected.
Meals:
Meals are your own responsibility except during deliberation. There are restaurants and fast food establishments within a short distance from the courthouse; you are free to bring your own lunch.
Verification of attendance:
An attendance verification form is available to all jurors from the Court Clerk and may be required by your employer for payroll records.
