JUROR REPORTING INSTRUCTIONS

D0001-D0250 Report Monday November 23 at 10:30 to Courtroom 12 thrid Floor, Arthur Cromaraty Criminal Court, Center Dr. Riverhead, NY

D0251-D0425 Report Monday November 23 at 9:30 am to the Supreme Court, 1 Court St. Riverhead NY.

D0426-D1500 Check back Monday November 23 after 4:30 pm for further instructions.
Good service means you do not have to make anymore phone calls. You do not have to return your summons nor will you receive any documentation from this office. Service is complete for 6 years.

Before reporting, please answer all questions on the back of Part A and then add your Social Security Number on the front. This will help us expedite your processing. Your Social Security Number is used for Payment Purposes only.

In addition, FOR SECURITY PURPOSES, please DO NOT bring any cameras, cell phones with cameras, any weapons, glass bottle containers or sharp items such as scissors, pocket knives or knitting needles. We suggest that those jurors who carry camera cell phones leave them at home while on jury duty, as cameras are not permitted in any courthouse. Jurors who do bring camera cell phones will have to leave them with court security for the entire day.

 

General Information

We are pleased to announce that all 3 of our Central Jury Rooms are now WIFI CAPABLE (wireless remote). You may bring your wireless devices such as a LAPTOP COMPUTER when serving Jury Duty.

Telephone Standby:
All trial jurors are placed on standby and report to each Suffolk County Courthouse only when instructed to do so by means of a recorded message. The recorded message will refer to you by juror number. Your juror number will be included within a group of numbers. Please report promptly at the time indicated in the message. If you are not asked to report, you are expected to continue your normal routine. The telephone standby call-in number is (631) 369-0049.

Parking:
Riverhead Supreme Court: The main juror parking lot is located across from the Supreme Court building on Court Street.

Riverhead - Criminal Court: The main juror parking lot is located in front of the Criminal Court building.

Central Islip District Court: The main juror parking lot is located in front of the Cohalan Court Complex.

Please be sure to follow all juror parking signs and park in marked spaces only. Please note that all building and parking lots are handicapped accessible.

Absence/Emergency:
If an illness or emergency prevents you from reporting, please call the specific jury room at the beginning of this card. Please note that these telephone numbers are for absences or emergencies only.

Court Hours:
Court normally operates between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Court sessions do not often continue beyond 5:00 p.m., except when juries are deliberating. Listen to local radio and TV stations for information about court closings due to inclement weather.

Court Security:
Magnetometers are in place in all courthouses and jurors are not exempted from the screening process. Weapons, cellular phones with cameras, cameras, electronic devices, and any sharp instruments such as scissors, pocket knives, or knitting needles are strictly prohibited. Your cooperation and patience is greatly appreciated in this effort to keep our facilities safe.

Meals:
In downtown Riverhead, dining and shopping facilities are located in the nearby business district within minutes of the courthouses. In addition, snack bar service is available offering coffee, soda, newspapers, and light snacks. In Central Islip, please see the jury staff for information and specific directions on dining and shopping facilities. In the Riverhead Criminal Courts Building, no OUTSIDE food or drink is allowed to be brought into the courthouse. You may purchase both inside the building at the snack bar.

Verification of attendance:
An attendance verification form is available to all jurors upon completion of service at a courthouse and is required by most employers for payroll records. Please see the jury room staff for further information.

ADVISORY Please be aware: The NY State Court System DOES NOT call or mail prospective jurors and request financial information such as credit card, bank account, Social Security Numbers or personal information such as the names and ages of your family members. DO NOT provide this kind of information to anyone claiming to represent the Court System.
