CALL IN MESSAGE FOR TRIAL JURORS SUMMONED FOR: FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2009
Everyone who received a jury summons for FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2009 should report by 9:00 a.m. as directed on your summons. Courthouse doors open at 8:30 a.m. and jury selection is held on the second floor. An elevator is available for your use if needed.
Please make certain you have completed the requested information on the back of your summons and that you bring it with you when you report. No payment for jury service will be issued to eligible jurors if information is missing. If you have misplaced this form, a similar form will be provided to you .
Everyone entering the building must go through security which includes a metal detector and x-ray machine for any carried items. It is suggested that any sharp objects that you may carry be left at home or in your vehicle while you are in the courthouse as they will be taken, secured at the security desk and returned to you when you leave the building.
Cell phone use is not permitted in the courtrooms so please make certain your cell phone is turned off. Lap top computers are permitted, however, may only be used in the hallway area where WiFi service is available.
If the courthouse parking lot is full, additional parking is available, where permitted, on the side streets. Please allow yourself extra time in the event you have to park away from the courthouse. Thank you..

POSTPONEMENT INFORMATION FOR TRIAL JURORS:
If you called the Commissioner's office, postponed via the automated telephone number OR website, PLEASE NOTE: the date selected or given is a GENERAL DATE. A summons will be sent for a time ON OR AFTER that date for the next, scheduled trial based upon the Court trial calendar.
SUMMONED GRAND JUROR INFORMATION:
PROSPECTIVE GRAND JURORS: IF YOU RECEIVED A GRAND JURY SUMMONS YOU SHOULD REPORT BY 9:00 A.M. AS DIRECTED ON YOUR SUMMONS. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CALL IN.
JUROR QUALIFICATION QUESTIONNAIRE INFORMATION: Questionnaires must be completed in order to update information and to avoid follow up notices. Follow the instructions on your questionnaire. You may qualify on the web at: www.nyjuror.gov/qualify , by phone, Toll Free: 1-866-648-4880 or by mail.
General Information
Telephone Standby:
Jurors are placed on telephone standby. The telephone message will instruct you when to report for service. The telephone number is (585) 786-8756.
Parking:
The main parking lot is on West Court Street. Parking is available on side streets WHERE PERMITTED.
Absence/Emergency:
If an illness or emergency prevents you from reporting, call (585) 786-8756. In case of bad weather listen to WCJW, Warsaw 1140 or WHAM, Rochester 1180.
Court Hours:
Court operates from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with breaks for lunch and during the day.
Court Security:
The building opens at 8:30 a.m. Please enter from the parking lot. Magnetometers are in place in the courthouse and jurors are not exempted from the screening process. Your cooperation and patience is appreciated in this effort to keep our facility safe.
Meals:
Lunch and dinner is furnished to deliberating jurors only. Otherwise, meals are the responsibility of the juror. Vending machines are located on the main floor for snacks and soft drinks. Restaurants & fast food establishments are within a short distance of the courthouse. You are free to bring your own lunch. No food or drink is allowed in the courtroom.
Verification of attendance:
Attendance is taken at the entrance to the courtroom. Attendance forms are available to all jurors as is required by most employers for payroll records.
